My son loves being part of the Polaris FAMILY. LeCee is always there to make your child feel welcome and special. Polaris has the amazing ability to find each kid's strength and build upon. My son has done about 7 productions with Polaris, he has loved performing in each and every one. Seeing the joy he has, as well as the other kids' experiences, it is well worth the commute from Queens.
Guys and Dolls was one of the most incredible artistic experiences I’ve had so far in my life. I played Sergeant Sarah Brown. LeCee Johnson is such an inspirational director and she put together such an incredibly talented and supportive cast. It was an absolutely outstanding experience. (2018 Update: Deychen has attended classes at HB Studios and has worked on one film and in multiple HB and off-Broadway productions.)
Polaris Productions taught me how to work together and be productive with the whole team, and most importantly, have fun! Furthermore, they taught me how to visualize the text as a story, and how to get into the mood and the character. I love Polaris Productions. And I hope we do another play such as Beauty and the Beast!! Thank you so much LeCee!” Update: In 2015 Liam joined the cast of the international tour of Beauty and the Beast (as "Chip"). In 2017 he appeared in "Marvin's Room" on Broadway, and he performed the role of "Jack" in our production of Into the Woods, for which he received an Oustanding Actor award from National Youth Arts.
I had a fantastic experience with Polaris Productions and really appreciated the dedication and professionalism of the adults involved. Working with a talented multi-age group of young actors really expanded my theatrical horizons, and I even won an award from National Youth Arts! (Update: It's 2018 and Patrick has performed regionally in several community theaters. You can read more about Patrick on his website, patrick-sharpe.com.
Polaris Productions taught me the theater skills I need to increase my confidence as a performer. Now, because of LeCee, who really saw my potential, I am auditioning for performing arts high schools like LaGuardia and PPAS. I really want to go on doing theater. (Update: It's now June 2018 and Sarah just graduated from LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts in NYC. In the fall she's off to college).
The impact of my involvement with Polaris Productions cannot be overstated. Youth theater is so important. The learning that comes from involvement in these productions goes far beyond acting, singing and dancing. You also learn teamwork, partnership, patience and discipline. (It's now June of 2018 and Emma will be attending the University of Miami, Frost School of Music, studying studio music and vocal jazz on a full tuition Presidential Music scholarship.).
