Be a Flying Monkey and work for a terrible boss! (ages 3-4)
OR help Dorothy begin her journey on the Yellow Brick Road as a Munchkin! (ages 5-7)
Whether you need a fun summer activity for your veteran child actor, have a child who just wants to test the waters of musical theater or one who just wants to have a fun camp experience, look no further. We offer two weeks of music, dance and acting instruction in an inclusive, friendly, and supportive environment.
This is a two-week, Monday through Friday musical theater camp experience featuring The Wizard of Oz (Young Performers Edition).
Kids build confidence, gain experience, make friends and have a lot of fun. At camp’s end, the kids will perform an enchanting one-hour version of The Wizard of Oz just for family and friends. It’s an accomplishment every child and parent will be proud of, and will remember for years to come.
More About the Wizard of Oz
The Young Performers’ Edition of The Wizard of Oz is a one-hour adaptation specially tailored for elementary school and middle school aged children. Songs the children will rehearse and perform include “Over the Rainbow”, “Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead”, “Yellow Brick Road” and more.
Like so many girls her age, little Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a tornado strikes her family’s farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world. Come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion as they travel the universe of Dorothy’s imagination.

Teaching Artists
LeCee Galmiche Johnson, Artistic Director
I graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Drama from the University of Dallas. I’ve trained and performed professionally in New York and regionally as a dancer, singer and actress. Since March of 2008 I’ve has been producing, directing and choreographing educational musical theater for New York City children and teens. In November of 2010 my husband and I founded Polaris Productions, a nonprofit youth theater company. Over the last several years I’ve been participating in Broadway Teachers Workshops, which have deepened my understanding of educational youth theater and how to use it to bring greater joy and creative fulfillment into the lives of children. As the mother of triplet daughters, my goal as a director is to find a way to reach each of my actors and help them to blossom and grow in self-confidence, ability and maturity. So far, my directing credits include: Into the Woods (spring 2008), The Boy Friend (spring 2009), Annie (spring of 2010), Little Shop of Horrors (winter 2010), Honk! (spring 2011), A Christmas Carol (winter 2011), Bye Bye Birdie (spring 2012), Guys and Dolls (April 2013) Me and My Girl (April 2014) and Disney Beauty and the Beast (May 2015).
